Callsign ‘SHADOW’, landing after an EWTS (Electronic Warfare Training and Simulation) mission off the WA coast, in support of the Royal Australian Navy. The aircraft is modified for the role with missile and air-intercept radar threat simulators, radar and communications jammers, chaff deployment systems and mission recording equipment.

‘AUSY 253’ landing at RAAF Pearce, arriving from Diego Garcia after a successful deployment to support aircraft conducting air strikes again Islamic State / Daesh militants in Iraq. The aircraft had been deployed to Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE since September 2014, as part of US led Coalition air operations, under the name Operation OKRA. This was the first time that the Wedgetail had been used in combat. A Department of Defence media release stated that the Wedgetail flew over 81 sorties, totalling 1029 hours as at the end of March 2015. Other RAAF aircraft deployed as part of the RAAF Air Task Group were six Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornets of 1 Squadron Williamtown and some Airbus KC-30A (A330-203MRTT) tankers of 33 Squadron, all from RAAF Base Amberley.

Another Malaysian-registered Seneca from GGIFA is behind. 9M-GTM was previously based at Jandakot from 2001 to 2008 as VH-VML of China Southern West Australian Flying College, and still bears the same basic livery. GGIFA closed down its flying school in 2010, and these two Senecas together with six Malaysian-registered Cessna 172S Skyhawk SP aircraft from GGIFA have been acquired by Airflite Pty Ltd, and may end up on the Australian aircraft register soon.
