Built in 1976, ex ZS-JIV, D2-THE, ZS-JIV, EI-JIV. This aircraft is returning home to South Africa after a deployment to the Antarctic on contract to Italia Antardide, the Italian national Antarctic research organisation. It arrived in Broome from Subang (Malaysia) on 25 October 2015 (see Jonathan Williams photo of it landing, under our October 2015 photos) departing on 26 Oct 2015 to Adelaide as SAFAIR 511 and the following day to Christchurch, New Zealand, using the same flight number. It returned from Christchurch via Adelaide today, and is seen here an hour after arrival in Port Hedland. It departed the next day to Subang as SAFAIR 511.
