Spectators beginning to gather at the temporary ‘Antonov Event Zone’, west of Airport Drive, Perth Airport – Sun 15 May 2016. This was just before 8AM. This area was not used by many dedicated aviation enthusiasts, due to the double-layered fence between spectators and the taxiway. Stepladders and tripods were banned, for safety reasons. It later filled up and there was a traffic jam on Airport Drive, which unfortunately delayed passengers catching flights out of the airport. Photo © David Eyre
