On 3 June 2019, when Singapore Airlines flight SQ213 arrived at Perth, the airline began a new era of regular Airbus A350 services on the Singapore – Perth route.
Singapore Airlines operates three versions of the Airbus A350-900:
A350-900 medium range/regional (registered in the 9V-SHx range) A350-900 long range (registered in the 9V-SMx range) A350-900ULR (Ultra Long Range – registered in the 9V-SGx range). 9V-SHG was the 309th off the production line, the 7th A350-900 medium haul/regional and the newest in the fleet at the time of its visit. It was delivered on 18 May 2019, just two weeks prior to its Perth visit.
SQ213 Singapore to Perth
9V-SHG departed gate A13 at Singapore-Changi at 7:40am and took off from runway 20C at 8:01am.
An initial cruise altitude of 39,000 feet was reached at 8:34am. It later climbed to a maximum altitude of 41,000 feet.
The A350 landed on Perth Airport’s runway 03 at 12:41pm. As it taxied in on taxiway T to the international apron, it was greeted by a water cannon salute from local Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting service crews.
Flight SQ213 parked at bay 150 at 12:46pm. Total flight time gate to gate was 5 hrs 6 minutes (airborne time 4 hours 39 minutes).

SQ226 Perth to Singapore 9V-SHG pushed back from bay 150 at 2:02pm (3 mins early), and took off from runway 03 at 2:16pm and climbed to 40,000 feet.
The aircraft landed on Singapore’s runway 20R at 7:16pm, arriving at the gate 3 minutes later for a total flight time of 5 hours 17 minutes gate to gate, or exactly 5 hours airborne time, due to being placed in a holding pattern near Singapore.

The first A350 visit to Perth occurred on 10 August 2014, when Airbus’ fifth development aircraft F-WWYB (MSN 005) visited Perth as part of route proving trials .
The second A350 visit, and the first one on a revenue service was 9
September 2016, when a Qatar Airways A350, A7-ALD (MSN 010) made an
emergency medical diversion to Perth, whilst en route from Adelaide to
Doha .
The third A350 visit and first Singapore Airlines A350-900 visited Perth was 9V-SMA, on 5 April 2017 to celebrate 50 years of services to Australia , operating the SQ213/SQ226 service in place of the now aging Boeing 777-200ER. This was a one-off special visit.
On 29-30 October 2017, Cathay Pacific became the first airline to operate regular A350 services to Perth , on their nightly CX171/CX170 services from/to Hong Kong.
