Malaysia Airlines has converted 10 Boeing 737-800s options (placed in 2008) to firm orders.
Malaysia Airlines already has 30 Boeing 737-800s on order, and these aircraft will be delivered by 2015, with the additional 10 aircraft to follow in 2016. This takes their total 737 orders to 45 aircraft. There are still another 10 options on B737-800s in the original contract, which if required could be converted to firm orders.
Malaysia Airlines uses the 737-800 on a late night flight between Perth and Kota Kinabalu.
The airline has operated 737s since 1972, neginning with the 737-200.
