Qantas is all set for the historic first scheduled 17 hours and 20 minutes non-stop service from Perth, Western Australia to London-Heathrow, in the United Kingdom, departing Perth at 6:50pm on Saturday 24 March 2018.
Another historic event the same day is the relocation of all Qantas-operated international services from Terminal 1 back to Terminal 3/4, following the construction of a new ‘International Wing’ in Terminal 3.
NOTE: From 24 March 2018, passengers on Qantas-operated international flights (London, Singapore and Auckland) will check in at Terminal 4, undergo the domestic security check, then go to Terminal 3’s international wing for another (international) security check and passport checks.
First service
While subject to change, it seems likely that the first service will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner VH-ZND, which wears a special Aboriginal livery and is named ‘Emily Kame Kngwarreye’, after the Aboriginal artist of the painting Yam Dreaming, upon which this livery is based.
