Virgin Australia has converted orders for 10 of the 40 Boeing 737 MAX 8s it has on order to the larger 737 MAX 10.
The first Virgin 737 MAX 8 is due for delivery in November 2019, and the first MAX 10 will arrive from 2022. The MAX 10 has greater seat capacity and longer range.
The Virgin order for the 737 MAX includes the ability to change versions.
Virgin has 80 Boeing 737-800s and two smaller 737-700s in a total fleet of 133 aircraft.
