Coulson Aviation Boeing 737-300 Fireliner N138CG / BOMBER 138 visited Western Australia for a few days, to assist with fighting a series of bushfires in the southwest of Western Australia.
The Large Air Tanker (LAT) can carry 15,150 litres of water or fire retardant, while carrying 72 passengers (e.g. firefighters).
The other LAT based at Pearce was N293EA/BOMBER 103 McDonnell-Douglas MD-87 of Erickson Aero Tankers, which can carry 11,350 litres of water or retardant.
The Fireliner arrived at RAAF Base Pearce on the night of 14 December 2019, flying direct from RAAF Base Richmond in New South Wales.
It operated from Pearce the next day (15 December 2019), fighting fires at Yanchep, Collie and Woodridge. On 16 December 2019, it again conducted drops on the fire near Collie.
On the morning of 17 December 2019, it departed Pearce back to Richmond.
