A21-13 McDonnell-Douglas F/A-18A Hornet (MSN 345/AF-13) of 75 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, based at RAAF Base Tindal, NT, in special '3 Squadron 100 Years 1916-2016' markings, at RAAF Base Pearce, Western Australia - 21 February 2020. Arriving from Tindal via Broome, for Exercise Phoenix Black and Exercise Nigrum Pugio. The Hornets provided air support for exercises with Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) personnel. The exercises ran from 23 February to 6 March 2020, with practice bombing and gunnery in the first week and explosive ordnance expended in the second week, at Lancelin Range. The aircraft is carrying an SUU-20 practice bomb dispenser and LITENING AT targeting pod. A21-13 was delivered to the RAAF on 3 July 1987. As the older F/A-18A and B 'Classic' Hornets are gradually being retired, the fleet is being consolidated, so aircraft still have tail markings from their previous units. Photo © David Eyre.

Hornets at RAAF Base Pearce for military exercises

D-ABUM Boeing 767-31B(ER) (MSN 25170/542) of Condor, in retro livery, at Perth Airport – 29 March 2020. First visit to Perth. On a German Government repatriation charter flight DE592 from Frankfurt via Phuket to Perth, landing on runway 21 at 3:31pm. It departed at 7:38pm as DE593 via Phuket to Frankfurt. One of four Condor 767-300ERs visiting Perth, picking up 800 stranded passengers from the cruise ship MV Artania, which had berthed in the port of Fremantle to offload passengers, due to a Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. VH-YNU Boeing 737-319 (MSN 25607/3126) of Nauru Airlines at Perth Airport – 6 December 2020. Flight ON940, departing to Brisbane at 2:45pm. It had arrived from Christmas Island on an Australian Government charter flight. In January 2021, this aircraft was flown to Miami, USA as N256NA, for conversion to freighter configuration.
