CB-8003 Boeing C-17A Globemaster III (MSN 50260/F259/IND3) of 81 'Sky Lords' Squadron, Indian Air Force, at Perth Airport, Western Australia - 5 May 2021. Photo © David Eyre. First visit by an Indian AF C-17. Arrived at 5:37am as 'IFC8921' direct from Hindon Air Force Station in Ghaziabad (on the outskirts of Delhi), India. Collected five large cryogenic oxygen tanks, which were urgently needed to deal with the COVID-19 situation in India. Seen here being towed over to bay 160 for two more tanks to be loaded. It departed to Chennai, India as 'IFC8921' at 1:30pm.

Due to large bushfires in Western Australia, another Large Air Tanker was brought over temporarily. N130FF arrived at Busselton on 5 January 2021, direct from Richmond, NSW. It assisted in fighting fires at Red Gully/Seaview on 6, 7 and 8 January 2021, then departed back to Richmond on 12 January 2021, as seen here. Built in 1981, ex 161495 US Navy, N427NA NASA. VQ-BVR Boeing 747-867F (MSN 60687/1505) of Air Bridge Cargo, with Pharma titles, at Perth Airport, Western Australia - 19 February 2021. First visit to Perth by VQ-BVR. This aircraft is able to transport temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals (hence the Pharama titles) and medical equipment. Flight RU339 arriving at 3:39pm from Singapore. It departed as RU236 to Singapore and Zhengzhou. Built in 2014 for Cathay Pacific Cargo, it was intended to be registered B-LIN, but this was not taken up and the aircraft was instead delivered to Air Bridge Cargo as VQ-BVR. Photo © David Eyre.

UR-CZZ Antonov An-12BP (MSN 401605) of Ukraine Air Alliance, at Perth Airport, Western Australia - 25 March 2021. This arrived the previous night from Surabaya (Indonesia) as UKL5009. It is seen here departing at 12:50pm as UKL5010 to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). It has visited Perth a number of times before. Built in April 1963 (so it is nearly 58 years old!) as an An-12B for the Soviet Air Force. It was registered CCCP-11766 with Aeroflot in 1981. Became UR-CDB in 2004 and UR-CZZ in 2013. 5 May 2021: CB-8003 Boeing C-17A of Indian Air Force
VH-ATG/395/2-HJ Fouga (Potez) CM.170 Magister (MSN 395) owned by Brian Collingridge, at Jandakot Airport - 8 May 2021. The Magister was the world's first operational jet basic trainer, and was designed by Castello and Mauboissin (hence the CM.170 designation). First flown in 1952, a total of around 929 were built in France, Germany, Israel and Finland. This Magister was originally delivered to the Armee de l'Air (French Air Force) in 1963 with serial 395. In April 1993, it was registered in USA as N395F to Paradise Aero Inc, Long Beach, California, then passed through a number of owners until being struck off the US register in July 2003. It was registered in Australia as VH-ATG. The aircraft is currently being restored to airworthy status. Photo © David Eyre.

730 Lockheed C-130H Hercules (MSN 4842) of 122 'Condor' Squadron, Republic of Singapore Air Force, at Perth Airport, Western Australia - 27 September 2021. 'SINGA 6134' climbing after take-off from runway 21 in some damp conditions, with vortices streaming from the propellers. It arrived from its base at Paya Lebar in Singapore the previous day, using the same callsign, and is seen here departing back to Paya Lebar. The Republic of Singapore Air Force acquired the first of four C-130B Hercules aircraft in 1977, followed from 1980 by six C-130H (including one KC-130H tanker). 730, the aircraft in this photo, was their first C-130H. From 2010, ST Aerospace began to modernise the RSAF Hercules fleet with new avionics and a digital glass cockpit, designed in Singapore. This aircraft is based at Paya Lebar Air Base, Singapore. 730 was displayed at RAAF Base Pearce air show on 19-20 May 2012. Photo © David Eyre.

Flight SB910 from Noumea via Brisbane, arriving at 3:44pm on runway 24 with only crew aboard. It departed the next morning (5 October) as SB901 to Brisbane and Noumea. 83+02 Westland Super Lynx Mk.88A (MSN 422) of Marinefliegergeschwader 5 (MFG5), aboard the German Navy frigate FGS Bayern (F217) at Fremantle Port, Western Australia - 2 October 2021. Photo © David Eyre. Nose art on the starboard side depicts Lemmy, the founder and lead singer of the rock band Motörhead and says "IPD 21/22" (Indo Pacific Deployment 2021/22). 83+02 was originally built as a Sea Lynx Mk.88 (MSN 223), first flown on 18 June 1981 as G-BIHK and delivered to the German Navy on 27 April 1983. By 2005, it had been converted to a Super Lynx Mk.88A and was allocated MSN 422. A second Super Lynx (83+12) was in the starboard hangar, wearing nose art on its port side, depicting Dusty Hill, lead singer of rock band ZZ Top. FGS Bayern (F217) is is a Brandenburg-class frigate of the German Navy, commissioned on 15 June 1996 and home-ported at Wilhelmshaven. It was on a six-month deployment to demonstrate Germany’s ongoing commitment to the Indo-Pacific and to defend the freedom of the sea . The Bayern trained with ships from Australia, Singapore, Japan and the United States. It visited Fremantle from 28 September to 5 October 2021. The last time a German Navy ship visited Sydney, Australia for the Bicentennial in 1988.

VH-NKM/'FU-N' Supermarine Aircraft Spitfire Mk.26B (MSN 066) owned by Russell Aviation Pty Ltd, at the Sport Aircraft Builders Club (SABC) Annual Fly-In, Serpentine Airfield - 17 October 2021. The kits for these scale replicas of the original Supermarine Spitfire are manufactured by Supermarine Aircraft (no relation to the original company), in Queensland. The kits require at least 1200 hours to construct. The Mk.25 single seater was a 75% scale replica which is no longer produced, based on the original Spitfire Mk.V, but has a fin and rudder shaped like later versions of the original Spitfire. Production of the replicas then switched to the Mk.26 two-seater, which uses the Mk.25 wings with the fuselage increased to 80% scale, to provide room for a passenger seat in tandem behind the pilot. The Mk.26B (as seen here) has a 90% scale fuselage. The Spitfire kit has the same power-to-weight ratio as the original Spitfire. C-GVRT/BOMBER 166 British Aerospace Avro RJ85 (MSN E2253) of Conair Aviation at Busselton Airport, Western Australia - 10 December 2021. Arrived at Busselton on 9 December 2021 from Dubbo, NSW via Ayers Rock, NT and Perth Airport to assist in fighting a large bushfire at Margaret River. It departed Busselton on 12 December 2021 via Adelaide to Dubbo, NSW. Built in 1994 as G-BVWD, delivered to Lufthansa Cityline as D-AVRB, where it served until April 2012. Air New Zealand resumes Boeing 787 Auckland – Perth services, replacing leased Wamos Air A330 ZK-NZE Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner of Air New Zealand in special all black livery, at Perth Airport - 29 October 2023. Air New Zealand resumed operating Auckland services using its own aircraft from today. ZK-NZE is seen departing as NZ176 to Auckland on 29 October. To enable Air New Zealand to build capacity while bringing other stored aircraft back online after the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline had wet-leased (aircraft plus crew) Airbus A330-243 aircraft from Spanish airline Wamos Air from 15 November 2022 to 28 October 2023. Wamos Air A330-200 EC-NCK was flown to New Zealand on 10 November 2022 and entered service on the Perth route from 15 November 2022, operating daily as NZ173 from Auckland and departing as NZ174. It operated its final Perth-Auckland service on 27 April 2023 and was replaced by EC-NBN until 28 October 2023. ANA resumes Tokyo – Perth services JA893A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner of ANA, at Perth Airport, Western Australia - 29 October 2023. **Resumption of passenger services to Perth by ANA today** Flight NH881 at bay 153, Terminal 1, after arriving from Tokyo-Narita at 7:49pm. It departed as NH882 at 10:31pm. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, ANA suspended Perth services, with their final passenger service on 30 March 2020 (they operated some freight services in January 2021).
