BAE Systems Hawk 127s: A27-10 (MSN DT10); A27-16 (MSN DT16) and A27-30 (MSN DT30) of 79 Squadron, RAAF, over the Swan River, Perth - Tue 26 January 2016 - Australia Day City of Perth Air Show 2016. A27-10 was the first Australian-built Hawk to fly, and made its first flight on 17 May 2000. VH-FNH Fokker 50 (MSN 20113) of Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (still in Skywest livery), named ‘Shire of Carnarvon’, at Perth Airport - Sat 27 February 2016. * Final Virgin Australia Fokker 50 revenue flight * Arriving back at Terminal 2 at 4:30pm to a water cannon salute by airport fire crews, after completing the final Virgin Australia Fokker 50 revenue flight. Flight VA9061, a 'Farewell Fokker 50' charter flight, departed Perth Airport's runway 21 at 3:24pm and headed west. It passed over Rottnest Island three times, then headed south, over Mandurah and Peel Inlet, before heading north for three orbits around Perth's city centre, then back past the city before landing again on runway 21 at 4:27pm. VH-FNH was the first F50 delivered to Skywest, in 1994, and in 2013 was the first aircraft to arrive at Perth Airport's Terminal 2. Photo © Jake Fox

TF-AAK Boeing 747-428 (MSN 32868/1325) leased by Iron Maiden from Air Atlanta Icelandic, named 'Ed Force One' at Perth Airport - Sun 15 May 2016. Being used by the band Iron Maiden on their 'Book of Souls' World Tour, taking off from runway 21 with the callsign 'ATLANTA 666' departing direct to Cape Town, South Africa at 2:46pm. The aircraft arrived from Adelaide on 13 May and the band performed a concert in Perth on 14 May. On the nose it lists the 47 cities where the band is performing. A6-BLF Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (MSN 39651/416) of Etihad Airways, at Perth Airport - Mon 30 May 2016. * First visit by an Etihad Boeing 787 to Perth.* Etihad's 787-9 aircraft were due to replace the Airbus A330-200 on EY486/EY487 Abu Dhabi - Perth services from 1 June 2016 (arriving 2 June). However, an A330 was replaced (perhaps due to technical issue), with a 787 today. Flight EY486 is seen here at 1:56pm, arriving on Bay 150 (Gate 50) at Terminal 1 Domestic pier. First official Etihad Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner visit to Perth: 2 June 2016

00-9001 Boeing C-32B (757-23A) (MSN 25494/611) of 150th Special Operations Squadron/486th Flight Test Squadron, US Air Force, at Perth Airport – Wed 8 June 2016. 'STUN 71' arriving at 8:08pm from Yokota Air Base in Japan, via Darwin. It departed to Darwin and Yokota at 8:11am on 10 June 2016. This aircraft is assigned to a secret unit which operates as part of the USAF Special Operations Command and the United States Department of State Foreign Emergency Support Team, which are on stand-by at a moment’s notice to deploy US civilian intelligence and diplomatic personnel to the scenes of terrorist incidents and world crises. It may also be used with the Special Activities Division of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The squadron motto is “Non semper ea sunt quae videntur” (“Not always what they seem”). This is one of two C-32B aircraft with the unit, but it is often painted with different serial numbers, being reported as 98–6006, 99–6143, 00–9001 and 02-5001. The C-32s are based at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida and it is believed that the test squadron designation was chosen to blend in with the flight test operations that are conducted at Eglin. VH-OOZ Yakovlev Yak-18 (MSN 1332013) owned by Franciscus Smit, at SABC Annual Fly-In, Serpentine Airfield - Sun 25 September 2016. This Yakovlev Yak-18 trainer was built in 1954 at Kharkov, Ukraine (then part of the Soviet Union) and was gifted to the Chinese Air Force (PLAAF) by the Soviets. It was partly disassembled for transport and then reassembled at Nanchang in China, however it was not manufactured by Nanchang. After negotiations, Nanchang later assembled 324 of them under licence between 1954 and 1958 as the "Nanchang CJ-5" for use by the PLAAF, PLANAF and civilian flying clubs. Filling up with water from the lake - it can carry 2,700 Litres of water. Assisting firefighters in fighting a suspiciously-lit bushfire in Lexia, at the Gnangara pine plantation, that burnt through 100 hectares. Normally operated for the NSW Rural Fire Service, this firefighting helicopter is currently based at Jandakot, where it was also based for the 2015/16 summer.
