Flight delayed 12 hours departing London Heathrow on first leg to Dubai, so used flight number QF2D for next leg from Dubai to Sydney. Delayed another 3 hours at Dubai. Passengers reported that it departed with one mid tank fuel pump offline (this is permitted in the Minimum Equipment List). However, another mid tank fuel pump failed in flight. As engines received fuel from each one’s primary fuel tank, the flight could continue with reduced range, so it diverted to Perth. After landing at 2:37AM on 31 August 2015, the aircraft was met by fire trucks. Passengers had to wait aboard for 90 minutes before they could leave the aircraft at Bay 51. The aircraft was then towed to Bay 62, whilst engineers worked on the fault. A replacement flight crew and parts were flown from Sydney, and it was expected that the aircraft could depart at 1pm the same day. Around half of the 407 passengers instead caught domestic flights to Sydney, whilst the other 225 passengers waited to depart on the A380. The aircraft was towed back to the A380 gate at Bay 51 and loaded with passengers, but scheduled departure was delayed again to 3.10pm. It was finally pushed back from Bay 51 still loaded with passengers (as an arriving Emirates A380 also needed Bay 51) but another problem was discovered (reportedly with the hydraulics), so it was towed to remote Bay 62 and the 225 passengers were disembarked onto buses and taken to Terminal 4, where they caught domestic flights to Sydney. The aircraft stayed at Perth overnight whilst parts were flown over from Sydney. It departed empty to Sydney on 1 SEP 2015 as QF6002 at 1208 on 1 September 2015.

Aircraft went unserviceable and return flight EK425 to Dubai was cancelled. The aircraft was towed to remote bay 163 for replacement parts to be fitted. The EK420 service operated by A6-EDE arrived in the evening, and for a few hours, Perth had two A380s on the ground together. A6-EUF was then towed to Bay 150, whilst A6-EDE was on Bay 151. A6-EUF departed to Dubai as EK2669.

Thank you for an informative site. Very interesting and newsy. I have been trying to grab an opportunity to photograph the Emirates A380 flight as it arrives (over our house/suburb) each day. Commitments and the season make the opportunities infrequent. I was disappointed to find your list above ended a few days before the flight I first captured at 1750 on 10/6/15. Having been forced to use a very high ISO, resulting grainy, dark exposures, I cannot be sure if it was A6-EOD. I would be very grateful if you could possibly tell me which plane was used for the flight on 10/6/15 please?
